Hwyliaith is a fun way of learning or reinforcing spoken Welsh. It’s called the Do and Say method because language learning works best when you use your whole body. Combining movement, gestures, tone and actions helps your brain process information more effectively through multiple senses. Our motto says it all:
‘Dim dweud heb wneud, dim gwneud heb ddweud.’
‘No saying without doing, no doing without saying.’
Language doesn’t exist in a vacuum. That’s why every Hwyliaith unit places Welsh in real-life situations through engaging stories and dialogues supported by videos.
The method wouldn’t be complete without energetic songs, written and performed by Ryland Teifi. These songs, designed to match our learning patterns, are packed with the most useful Welsh questions and sentence structures.
Repetition is key to making a new language stick. Our activities encourage regular listening and relistening of material, using spaced repetition to help the brain to store and recall Welsh naturally over time.
